Alumni Weekend Recap 2022

Alumni Weekend was held October 7th-10th with over 150 alumni attending plus many wives, girlfriends, and children. The weekend featured four main parts: Friday evening cookout, Saturday morning games and family day, Saturday evening Alumni Reunion, and Monday’s Golf Classic. Special thanks to our “Heights Beer” Sponsors for our Clan Ales and the Tower Trophy, sponsored by the Class of 2012.  The Gold Cross Ale was sponsored by the Searby family, the Red Cross by the Beatty family, the Red Rose by the Segura family, and the White Lily by the Messenger brothers.

Friday evening centered around a tailgate and cookout on the outdoor basketball court. The tailgate was the perfect place to watch the varsity soccer defeat Don Bosco Cristo Rey 3-1. The evening also featured corn hole, a Heights keg tap, and grilling out. The evening concluded with a short story reading and discussion led by Mike Ortiz in the Living Room.

Saturday morning focused on alumni games in soccer and baseball plus moon bounces and games for kids. This family event allows alumni to bring the wives and children to see the school. A late addition to the weekend was a paella competition featuring eight competitors producing a wide variety of paellas. Alumni also received clan shirts sponsored by Pat Kilner ’97 of Kilner & Kirk Real Estate and Grant DiGioia ’05 of Patriot Shredding.

Saturday evening’s Alumni Reunion was the formal event of the weekend. It began with the Mass for Deceased Alumni celebrated by Fr. David Meng ’81 (the first Heights alumnus to be ordained as a Catholic Priest). After Mass a reception was held in the main building for all alumni along reunions for the class of 1992 and 2007. Finally, Headmaster Alvaro de Vicente ’83 gave his State of The Heights Address followed cigars and conversation into the evening.

On Monday October 10th, The Heights Golf Classic was played at Kenwood Golf & Country Club. Of the 110 players, 43 were Heights alumni! Thanks to Denis Mitchell ’92 for chairing the Golf Committee and leading another great event. Enjoy the photos below.
