Process & Dates

Application Process

The deadlines for the 2025-26 application have passed. Please consider The Heights for 2026-27.

1. Online Application & Short Responses

The application deadlines for the 2025-2026 school year have passed. The 2026-2027 application will be available on August 1, 2025. Please see below the materials needed once the application is submitted.

2. Student Visit

We are not hosting student visitors at this time of the school year. Shadow days will begin in September 2025. Read more about the student visit process here.

3. Student Transcripts and Two Recommendations

These forms can be accessed in the checklist on the parent portal after submitting the application and fee online. Both the student transcripts and teacher recommendations may be completed and submitted online. Please ensure these are submitted before coming in for the interview. To access the admissions portal, please click here.

4. Family Interview (student with both parents)

Once the application and all requisite materials have been received, we look forward to meeting with your family for this final conversation. Both parents are required to accompany the applicant(s) for the interview. This gives us the chance to get to know your family in a more personal way and assess your son’s academic readiness (he will read from a book out loud, work on a writing sample, and complete our math assessment ). It is also a great opportunity for you to better acquaint yourself with our school. The interview is expected to last an hour. To access the admissions portal and schedule an interview, please click here.

5. Optional: Upper School Applicants may, at their election, submit SSAT or other standardized test scores

The Heights is Test-Optional. Accordingly, Upper School applicants, if they so choose, may take the SSAT or send us another similar standardized test score once it becomes available. You may send results directly to us. Regardless of whether standardized tests are submitted, all applicants will read aloud to their interviewer, provide a short writing sample during the family interview, and complete written work during their visit day. Consequently, The Heights does not require a standardized test, but rather leaves it to the applicant family to decide whether such a test is in the best interest of their son.
