New Faculty 2025-2026

We are delighted to welcome the following faculty and staff members to campus this academic year!

Andrew Rowedder ’09

Andrew Rowedder works in The Heights development office. He is a Heights graduate from the Class of 2009. After taking some time to study in Spain, he attended the University of Maryland where he earned a B.A. in 2015, majoring in Economics and Political Science, and minoring in Spanish. Andrew then spent several years volunteering as a teacher in Belize and Mexico with the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). Before returning to The Heights, he studied Philosophy at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and served at parishes and missions as a teacher and coach.

Michael Heinssen ’14

Michael Heinssen, a 2014 graduate of The Heights, has returned to campus to teach the Eighth Grade Core and seventh grade U.S. History. He received his B.S. in Labor and Employment Relations from Pennsylvania State University. He lives in Arlington, Virginia.

Henry (“Liam”) Austin ’23

Liam Austin graduated with The Heights class of 2023 and returned to campus as a Teacher’s Assistant in the lower school. He’s excited to dedicate his talents to the boys entrusted to his care. In his free time, Liam enjoys the outdoors, taking walks, and all sports. 

Zig Sanchez

Zig Sanchez joined The Heights faculty as a sixth-grade homeroom teacher. Born and raised in Texas, he attended Western Academy, a brother school of The Heights in Houston. Before moving to Washington, D.C., Zig received a B.A. in History from the University of Houston and taught for three years at private schools in New York City.

Thomas Love ’24

Thomas Love is an alum and lifer of The Heights, graduating in 2024. He attended one year of college at John Paul the Great Catholic University before returning to campus for a gap year as a Teacher’s Assistant in the lower school. He plans to return to JPCU in March and finish his B.A. in communications media, with an emphasis in cinematography.
