A memorial service honoring 1LT Andrew J. Bacevich, Class of 1998, was held on Thursday, November 9th. Andy fell in battle in 2007 while serving in the U. S. Army in Iraq (Cavalcade Winter 2008). To commemorate the ten-year anniversary of his death, his classmates initiated an effort to erect a fitting memorial on campus to honor him. The memorial ceremony included alumni of the class of 1998 and honored guests, along with Heights faculty and the entire student body. It was a somber but beautiful occasion, reminding The Heights community of the ultimate sacrifice made for our country by one of our own.
