The first Cavalier 5K was held June 17th at The Heights with over 50 runners including alumni, current students, parents, and parents of alumni. The course covered ground on campus as well as through neighborhoods familiar to former cross country, soccer, and track athletes. After beginning on campus the runners went down Seven Locks Road to Democracy Blvd to Gainsborough Road before cutting back to Democracy Lane via Windsor View Drive and back to The Heights where they looped the fields and the Courtyard before finishing in front of the main building.

The race was dominated by three of the top Heights runners of the 2010’s- Ian Denis ’17 (17:35), Joe Kilmer ’17 (18:40), and Greg Hadley ’12 (19:17).  They were followed by three members of the 2022 cross country team. Click here for full race results.

Following the race, a cookout was held and winners were recognized for the various age divisions.  Next year a new category will be introduce- the stroller division, since so many participants pushed stroller this year!
