In only its second year, The Heights climbing team defeated ten other squads to win the Washington Area Interscholastic Climbing League (WAICL) championship meet this past Sunday in Crystal City, Virginia. Senior co-captains Thomas Moriarty and Anthony Esquivel led the team in individual awards, junior Matthew Lingle won third place honors overall, and seniors Liam McFadden and Joseph Pakaluk turned in strong performances as well. Coach Eric Heil commented, “The future of Heights climbing looks bright.”
