Freedom in the Home: On Being Both Perfect and Anxious for Nothing

As parents, we are eager for our sons to thrive; for them to be fully alive in every respect. Yet a creeping perfectionism can make its way into our relationships, and transform a well intentioned desire to lead into a stifling insistence on perfection, not only in our own children but in their friends as well.

How are we to accompany our sons in their own pursuit of the life well-lived in a manner respectful of their freedom. And what does this freedom look like in an era of seemingly ubiquitous and liquid modernity? How do we pursue perfection while being anxious for nothing?
