Description and Objectives
This class, taught entirely in Latin, will be centered around the reading of the Mirabilia Urbis, a Medieval guidebook of sorts for the city of Rome. Our Latin discussions will spring from this source, and give special focus to Latin grammar, Roman architecture, and Roman stories.
Textbooks
The instructor will provide a printout of the Mirabilia Urbis. This will be kept in a provided folder.
Course Requirements
This course will require students to do daily reading as well as weekly memorization. There will also be tests and quizzes encompassing the elements read and memorized. Students are expected to speak Latin every day.
Successful Students
Successful students will not only be zealously diligent in reading their assignments, but also in spending time reading or listening to Latin every single day. They will be courageous in their use of Latin each day in class. They will go to the instructor or their peers for help as needed.
