Description and Objectives
Use of accounting data by financial managers in the planning and control of organizational
activities. The course provides a framework to develop the methodology of managerial
accounting as an integral tool of managerial decision-making in a contemporary business
environment. Topics include cost concepts, profit planning, budget decision techniques, planning
pricing decisions, inventory control, and quantitative decision techniques.
Textbooks
Managerial Accounting for Undergraduates by Christensen, Hobson, Wallace, Matthews – 2nd
Edition. The required readings, videos and exercises will be provided within the modules for the
course.
Microsoft Office 365 – Throughout the course PowerPoint and Excel is used. Be sure your device
has Microsoft 365 with PowerPoint and Excel.
Laptops needed for homework.

B. Identify the difference between managerial and financial accounting, and their inter-
relationship
C. Analyze financial statements for business decisions
