Yesterday, the 48th Heights School commencement ceremony was held under a tent on the upper field. Sixty-one young men joined the ranks of Heights alumni. Anthony Falcone, Heights Board Treasurer and father of Vincent ’10, Tony ’18, and Michael ’21 gave the commencement address. Look for more coverage in the upcoming summer Cavalcade!
For the majority of the new alumni, the next step is college. They will be attending Notre Dame (5 grads), Catholic University (4), Virginia Tech (4), Providence (3), the University of Virginia (3), Hillsdale (2), Montgomery College (2), Ave Maria, Belmont Abbey, Boston College, Calvin University, Canisius, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Coast Guard Academy, Emory, Franciscan University of Steubenville, George Mason, Georgetown, Gettysburg, High Point, Indiana, Jacksonville, LSU, Middle Tennesse State, Navarre, Northern Virginia Community College, Penn State, Pratt Institute, Princeton, Rhode Island, Skidmore, Syracuse, Towson, UMBC, Villanova, West Point, and Wheaton College.
In college, four members of the class will continue to play baseball (two Division I and two Division III), two plan to row crew, one to swim, and one to play lacrosse. One is doing a prep year for soccer.
The class of 2021 is also highly dedicated to serving others with two alumni heading to service academies, three participating in ROTC (Air Force, Marine Corps, and Navy), two enlisting in the Army, and one enlisting in the Marine Corps. Two others are taking a gap year to perform charitable work and one is entering the seminary.
The entire faculty is so proud of the many achievements of the Class of 2021 and especially of their leadership during the past year.
