Cardinal Gregory Visits The Heights

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, Wilton Cardinal Gregory celebrated daily Mass in The Heights chapel, with Heights alumnus Father Bobby Kilner (’06) and school chaplains Father Diego Daza and Father Rene Schatteman concelebrating. Upper school students and faculty were honored to greet his eminence during this first visit to our campus since he was installed as Bishop of the Archdiocese of Washington. In his homily, Cardinal Gregory reflected on the first reading and encouraged the young men to follow the example of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the three boys who remained loyal to the true God and resisted the demands of the Babylonian king to worship false gods. When young men are daring and unwavering in their faith, the Cardinal exhorted, God uses them to change the hearts of those around them, as illustrated in this Biblical account. Faculty and students look forward to more opportunities to welcome his eminence on campus again in the future.
