Learn afresh or improve your skills as a rugby player and increase your love for the game with this program, which is designed to leave attendees with the tools needed to improve themselves individually. There will be a focus on one- and two-man drills and exercises that, once learned, can be used by players on their own to improve the fundamental skills needed to be a contender on the pitch.
Skills (and corresponding drills) to be covered will include: ball-handling, catching, passing, kicking, offensive stepping, ball-stripping, proper stiff-arming, field vision, decision-making, and much more. Attendees will receive personal, hands-on instruction catered to the skill level of the individual. At the end of the week, each camper will receive a Gilbert brand Rugby ball to continue developing on their own.
The camp will be led by Coach Titus Willard, backline coach for Varsity Rugby at The Heights. Coach Willard played high school rugby for two years at the Heights and collegiate rugby for four years at the University of Dallas, which finished #17 in the nation for NSCRO his senior year.
