Alumni Fundraising Update

See where we stand with a month and half to go!

Fellow alumni,

As we near the end of the 50th Anniversary year of The Heights, I would like to share a quick update on alumni fundraising. There is still plenty of time to give before the year ends on June 30th!

Last year, $124,063 was donated by 329 alumni, the most ever in both cases. We can still easily smash both of these records. To date, $96,509 has been donated by 182 alumni to The Heights for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. I know there is a lot of uncertainty right now, but if you are able, please consider making a gift to our alma mater and help us set a new giving record. Whether you can make a big gift or give $50 for the 50th, we appreciate your support.

Gifts can be made to the Alumni Scholarship Fund (ASF) which provides need-based tuition assistance for the sons of alumni or to any Heights program you prefer to support. You can go to www.heights.edu/alumnigive to make your gift.

I would also like to highlight two additional funds started by alumni. First is the Class of 2009 Scholarship which provides a full scholarship for a student from the Tenley Achievement Program (TAP). The class is currently raising funds for the final year of the scholarship. Second is the Andy Bacevich Memorial Fund, started by the class of 1998 in memory of their classmate who fell in battle in 2007. The purpose of this fund is to help make The Heights a reality for a student in need.

Finally, I would like to announce the first endowed fund launched by alumni, The Class of 2006 Headmaster’s Fund.  This fund already has $50,650 donated and/or pledged over the next four years towards the initial goal of $206,000. Since this is an endowed fund the dollars are not included in the total alumni giving mentioned above ($96,509). This fund is a first step in securing the longterm financial security and affordability of The Heights.

If you would like to learn more about giving opportunities at The Heights, please email me at jcallahan@heights.edu to set up a time to talk.

The mission of The Heights is not possible without the generosity of alumni. Thank you for your support!
