ALL FRIDAYS (5-7pm) FOOD PACKING AT ST STEPHEN’S PANTRY
St. Joseph’s Pantry at the Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church (Rockville) needs volunteers on Friday evenings to help pack food for distribution. Volunteers from various local schools sort food and fresh produce into family-sized packages for distribution the following day. We work from 5-7 pm on all Fridays. ALL SATURDAYS (8:30 – 11:00am) FOOD DISTRIBUTION AT ST STEPHEN’S PANTRY
St. Joseph’s Pantry at the Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church (Rockville) needs volunteers to help distribute food to individual families. Volunteers from various local schools help load food packages into personal vehicles from 08:30 – 10:30 am on most Saturday mornings. If you would like to volunteer please sign up >>here<<.
HELP FOR UKRAINE
The members of the club will be raising funds to support the recovery of seminaries and orphanages in Ukraine. These funds will be collected via bake sales, donut sales, and cash donations. These activities will be announced via fliers at school. Any cash donations should be sent in to the school front office, checks made payable to The Heights School.
THANKSGIVING Food Drive 4 – 22 November (3-12)
We are collecting dry and canned (non-perishable) food donations for St. Stephen’s Food Pantry in Rockville, MD. Our goals is 2 lbs per student! Please place donations in the bins at the 2nd Floor Chapel entry. The donations will be delivered to the Pantry during the Thanksgiving break. Thank you!
TURKEY DELIVERY (17 November) (9-12)
To St Stephen’s Pantry, Rockville Thursday 17 November. Leave The Heights at 3:30pm, return at 6:00pm. We are assisting with an order of 220 frozen turkeys being donated to the food pantry. We will load them into a trailer, then deliver them to the pantry in Rockville. Sign up here!
FALL GARDEN CLEANUP PROJECT (Saturday, 19 November)(7-12)
We will be doing a cleanup of various acres of oak leaves, trimming hedges, clearing stumps and other needed garden work for the The Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Mi, in Clinton Maryland. Meet at The Heights at 8:30am, return at 4:00pm. Blowers and hearing protection and lunch will be provided. Bring gloves and rakes! Sign up here!
COOK AND SERVE A THANKSGIVING MEAL (25 November) (9-12)
At a DC homeless shelter; 25 November. Volunteers will be cooking and serving a meal for 200 guests. Meet at The Heights at 3:00pm, return at 7:00pm. Sign up here!
CUP OF JOE (January and February) (3-12)
We will be packing meals in support of Catholic Charities’ Cup of Joe program. The products will be delivered to us at school, we will organize and pack the meals, and then return them to the Cup of Joe coordinators for delivery at local shelters. Dates are yet to be determined. Sign up here!
