Strengthen your soccer skills and fire up your soccer passion in this fun program that emphasizes learning through playing! The result of this camp will be improved fundamentals, refined technique, and an increased love of the game.

Individual players will receive instruction and coaching geared to their own specific needs. The technical focus of the camp will be on refining and developing each player’s fundamentals: ball control, receiving, dribbling, passing, shooting, field vision and decision-making. There will also be specific training for goalies from a goalie coach.

The boys will be broken up into three different groups: Ages 6-8 (FC CAVS); ages 9-11 (JV); and ages 12-15 (Varsity)

The camp will be led by Coach Colin Gleason, Head of the Soccer Program at The Heights School. Coach Gleason led his Varsity to a WCAC Championship title in the school’s innaugural year in the conference (2018.) He was named The Washington Post All-Met Coach of the Year in 2018 and WCAC Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2019. The Heights Varsity Soccer team finished the 2018 season ranked #16 in the country.

Coach Kyle Blackmer, Assistant Varsity Coach and Goalie Coach, will help coach the camp, including working with aspiring goalies. Kyle played Division 1 soccer at Adelphi University.

Coach Larry Kilmer is a legend of Montgomery County soccer. With over 30 years of coaching under his belt, including a WCAC Championship Title as Head Varsity Soccer Coach with the Academy of the Holy Cross, Larry brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the camp. Larry teaches and coaches currently in The Heights Middle School.

Student-Athletes from The Heights Varsity team will serve as counselors and coaches to the various teams in the camp.
