Head Coach: Gene Riechers (
Gene played lacrosse at Penn State, followed by several years of adult club lacrosse in the DC area. He has also coached at various levels. In addition, he is a director of the Tewaaraton Foundation, which recognizes the top male and female collegiate players each year (The “Heisman Trophy” of lacrosse). Due to his involvement with the Foundation, Gene has relationships with top college coaches throughout the country. As part of his role with the Foundation to honor the Native American heritage of the game, Gene also manages a college scholarship fund for young leaders in the six nations of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy.
Gene has had a successful career in the DC area technology community as an executive, a venture capitalist, and a corporate director. He is on the board of some of DC’s leading technology companies. Gene has a B.S. degree from Penn State and an MBA from Loyola University. He has been a guest lecturer at Penn State, Harvard Business School, University of Chicago, and Georgetown University.
Gene sees team sports and competition as a way to develop values that will contribute to a lifetime of success in any chosen field. He is also the founder of Friends of Heights Lacrosse, a parent and community organization that helps the coaches, the teams, and the school build on their successes.
