The Heights won two games Saturday against great squads from two area public schools. The first game, played in a torrential downpour against 2016 Washington Post #1 ranked Walter Johnson, ended in a 2-1 victory for The Heights with goals by Rizkalla and Egan. Following that win, the Cavs again found victory against Richard Montgomery, 3-0, thanks to three goals from Rizkalla, Egan, and Kolasch. Though the season is young, Heights soccer is off to a strong start. After the games, Coach Gleason remarked, “We lost both of these games two years ago in this WJ tournament. Some of the boys who were there remembered that and I think used it as fuel for the fire this time around. They played hungry and were first to every ball around the field. They played great soccer, but the desire was what won these matches for us. It’s a great way to start the 2017 season.” Don’t miss our home game vs. School Without Walls this Thursday, 9/7, at 4:00 pm.
