Two Heights Alumni Ordained to Priesthood

The Heights is thrilled to announce the ordination to the priesthood of two alumni, Robert Kilner ’06 and Jordan Willard ’09. Father Kilner will return to Rome in the fall for an additional year of study for the Archdiocese of Washington, and Father Willard will serve at St. Theresa parish in Ashburn, Virginia.  Both men expressed gratitude to The Heights for playing a significant role in their discernment.  In an Arlington Catholic Herald interview, Fr. Willard explained, “In many ways, you could say The Heights was the first place I took personal initiative with my faith on a significant level. I’m not sure if I would’ve entered seminary if not for the tools they had given me.” Similarly, while speaking to the Catholic Standard, Fr. Kilner shared memories of attending Holy Mass as a young boy at The Heights and being deeply moved by the beauty of the liturgy.  Before he leaves for Rome, Fr. Kilner will assist at Sacred Heart parish in La Plata, Maryland, where another Heights alumnus, Father Larry Swink ’94, is pastor.

In other related news, Fr. Stephen Wyble ’07, is returning from his year in Rome to Our Lady of Mercy in Potomac, Maryland.

Congratulations to our new priests!  Rest assured of our prayers.
