Welcome to Edline
As you may recall, last year we administered our first ever parent communication survey. In response to the comments, requests, and
feedback of our parent community, we are implementing a number of exciting improvements this year to the way we communicate on a range of topics. Perhaps the most significant improvement is the introduction of the secure online parent portal called Edline.
What is Edline?
-
Access your son's grades: All grades will now be kept electronically, meaning you can see your son's grades as soon as they are available. This replaces the need for progress reports and keeps you up-to-date on how your son is performing in the classroom.
-
Volunteer Groups: Edline will help parent volunteer groups organize their efforts, post meeting times and keep track of all their hard work.
-
Update Contact Info: If your contact info changes, you can now sign into Edline, see what we have on file, and change phone numbers, addresses or emails.
You should have received an activation code for each of your sons. When you activate your account, you can use these codes to link all your sons to a single account. Remember, once you set up your username and password, DO NOT share your password with your sons. Because we will use Edline to communicate with you about your son's development, we want to keep faculty-parent interactions confidential. If you need help setting up your account, there are pdf guides and even an account setup video tour to help you. If you're still having trouble setting up your account, contact Dave Hickson at 301.365.4300 or dhickson@heights.edu.
As we continue to finalize our class and group pages for the year, we are very excited about this new program. Thanks to all of you who participated in last year’s parent survey. These improvements are all the result of your excellent ideas. We welcome your ongoing feedback throughout the year and look forward to seeing you on the first day of School. Now, on to Edline!!
